Harbour Sail and Raft-up – 23 Aug 2020

Crew: Geoff, Irene, Blair.

Forecast: Northerly 10 knots, easing to variable 5 knots in the morning. Northeast 10 knots developing in the evening. Sea slight. Cloudy, chance of some showers during the day.

Departed Chaffers at 1116 hrs. We hoisted the No. 1 LT Genoa and Mainsail and headed north with Irene on helm. Very light variable breezes initially, developing to NW after we passed Pt Jerningham. We then turned downwind and poled out the Genoa with Blair on helm as we sailed passed Kau Bay towards Falcon Shoals.

We followed Temptation in to Scorching Bay. No sign of the club mooring so Paul dropped their anchor and tied up alongside at 1322 hrs for a raft-up.

We enjoyed the calm conditions in the bay. Tempted to jump in for a swim. After lunch and socialising we cast off at 1413 hrs as the drizzle set in and we motor-sailed back, arriving at Chaffers Marina at 1511 hrs.

A great day out on the water.
